Keeping you updated as promised. Today is the start of the holiday and we have just arrived at the DoubleTree Hilton in Southampton.
The package I booked includes parking for the full duration of the cruise, which means the car stays here while we are away. One less thing to worry about.
It also includes a return taxi from the ship when we get back. So we dock, collect our luggage, and a taxi takes us straight back to the hotel and the car. No faffing about with shuttle buses or public transport after twelve days away.
The hotel looks really good and so far it has been zero stress. That is exactly what you want the night before a cruise.
If you look at the photos there is even a dedicated place for cruise luggage. Perfect. They clearly know exactly who their guests are.
MSC Virtuosa tomorrow morning. Southampton to Rotterdam. The trip is actually starting.
